Music Mission Statement
Statement of Musical Focus
Our venue offers many forms of art intended for a reflective community audience. As a result, diverse programming needs to coexist in our modestly-sized space on East Center Street. This involves spatial, conceptual, and logistical cooperation.
The Jazz Gallery Center features many varieties of jazz, classical, folk, experimental, hip-hop, and diverse hybrid forms of music. We regularly showcase musical forms not well served in the area and encourage collaborations such as fusions of music and poetry and other forms of expression. Our venue also offers a forum for less experienced musicians to gain experience playing on stage and collaborating with others.
Other Performance Arts
The Jazz Gallery Center welcomes performance arts that can work within our space, scheduling, and mission. In the past, this has included plays, performance art, mixed-media video, film, poetry, dance, comedy, and collaborations across these genres. Staging larger-scale theater or dance performances with our small stage and active events schedule may be challenging. Please submit your ideas and event requests at info@jazzgallerycenterforarts.org, and we will get back to you regarding next steps.
