Memory Cafe
Friday, July 31st @ 6:00pm
At the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts - 926 East Center Street
The Memory Cafe is a new seasonal poetry open mic series centered around seven values; Inclusivity, Community, Self-Awareness, Optimism, Nostalgia, Biking, and Coffee. This event, the feature is Sonia Erika. Poets who would like to perform are priority and other disciplines (comedians, singers, musicians) are secondary.
Sonia Erika is a multidisciplinary adventure junkie, and certified EMT. Sonia is the daughter of formerly undocumented laborers. Known for blending bold creativity with purposeful action, Sonia thrives at the intersection of art, activism, and community building. This magic can be felt through a song or community festivals like “Dia De Los Muertos” or “Spring Moon”. Sonia’s work is a powerful medium for storytelling — exploring familial migration, rebirth, and the quest for belonging.
