CANCELED DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
Audios Amigo
Composers Lainie Fefferman and Jascha Narveson, from Brooklyn, have been playingshows at friends’ houses and back yards across the states this summer. For this concert, they'll be joined by their friends and local synth heroes Lorna Dune and Wavefiler.
Lorna Dune’s sonic meditations use analog synthesis, feedback loops, field recordings, improvisations, and through-composition to summon other dimensional realities. Drawing upon the influences of Terry Riley, Sonic Youth, Gas, Pauline Oliveros, Glenn Branca, Meredith Monk, Television as well as krautrock melodies of Neu, Lorna Dune explores a wide range of styles that are tied together with a voice that is uniquely her own. Her career as an experimental classical musician turned eclectic techno artist is now transforming into that of an introspective avant-electronic composer.
Jascha Narveson will be improvising on a controlled feedback and looping system – expect tones and textures moving through a series of different moods and spaces.
Lainie Fefferman will be presenting songs from her project “White Fire,” which are feminist interpretations of stories of women from the Torah. Expect processed vocals and triggered percussion over electronic backing tracks made of found sound and field recordings.
