Father Sky, Kati Katchever, Kathryn Hall
Saturday, May 30th @ 7:00pm
At the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts - 926 East Center Street
Father Sky is heart-song medicine-music for the masses by musical-adventurist and genre-bender, pianist and vocalist Anthony Deutsch.
Kati Katchever is a songpoet in hues of high blue and deep amber, a flute-throated loon catching light between dusk and dawn. Kati performs an intimate mix of genre-defying original songpoems and countryfolk covers imbuing each with her soulful, intuitive approach to expanding hearts and minds.
Kathryn Hall was once a Katy Howard, relentlessly unfolding to take form as another shape, again to unfold taking shape as another form. From a pilgrimage to India to real Wisconsin farm work, living on a sailboat going down the Mississippi to working in television in New York City, a strong gut feeling has always been the key for every next move into unknown territory.
As Kathryn Hall, time moves a lot more slowly. She emerges now from the great wilderness cave that is early and earnest motherhood. Approaching a stage to perform original music for the first time feels perhaps the most adventurous of any endeavor - for sharing the great unknown within is perhaps the most daring.
