Solo Exhibition Opportunity
Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts invites mid-career and established visual artists living in the City of Milwaukee and working primarily in 2D or low relief media to apply for the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts annual solo exhibition opportunity.
Please note:
Solo Exhibition Applicants must NOT be emerging artists or recent graduates of an undergraduate program.
Eligible applicants should have an established track record of creating and exhibiting their work, beyond any student-oriented exhibitions.
Art work can be for sale (we encourage that) and Jazz Gallery handles all sales and payment to the artist. JGCA retains 25% commission on any sales.
Installation of the exhibition will be completed by JGCA Gallery Committee representatives in the week prior to the exhibition opening.
JGCA Gallery committee members will work with the selected artist to develop materials, press release and promotion of the exhibition through social media, website, email and printed posters.
JGCA Gallery committee members will work with the selected artist to plan and promote the opening reception date, time and set-up.
Because the Jazz Gallery is a multi-use visual and performance space, the space does not lend itself well to displaying 3D/Sculptural works. Keep that in mind when applying.
Deadline for submission is September 15th, 2026 at midnight. The selected artist's exhibition will take place at Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts' main gallery from April 24 - May 29, 2027.
This year's solo exhibition recipient will be selected by Frank Juarez, publisher of Artdose Magazine, gallerist/curator, artist and award winning art educator.
