Duo Alex Koi x Kirin McElwain perform original music for voice, cello, electronics and modular synthesizer. Hailing from the New York avant-garde music scene, their music floats between musical poetry, composition and improvisation. They’ve performed with the likes of Trevor Dunn [Mr. Bungle, John Zorn], This Will Destroy You, Shara Nova, and Post Malone to name a few. Having just recorded their debut album “Wake” in NYC with engineer Randall Dunn [Kali Malone, Oneotrix Point Never, HBO’s “The Curse”], this evening performance hosted by JGCA marks the project’s first engagement in Milwaukee.
